2003-10-09 - House Hunting


Ok, so the big news around here is that we are doing some house hunting. The bigness of it hasn't even really hit me yet. That is a HELL of a LOT of MONEY. We are looking at houses outside of the city because here in Ottawa the houses are way too expensive. You can basically get twice the house for half the price out in the country. Not to mention an actual backyard for little pug-let(s) to run around in! I would absolutely love these houses but they are too far from the city where we work etc. (40 min +)

These houses are ones we are looking at more seriously. They are ~30 min from the city (where we are now) and only about 7 min. farther from the city than where I used to live before shacking up with "the boy". Downside, we'll need a second car. At first we were considering a townhome, but after more thinking (and Open House visiting) we are probably going to opt to spend more and get a house. The first is our personal favorite so far. Owned by an older couple, great condition, brand new kitchen, full finished basement, 2 gas fireplaces. Anyways, we'll see.
