It's My Life

2003-07-20 - "The" Story

Since you've been asking/begging/threatening (please keep in mind, I don't HAVE to share anything with anyone) I'll tell you the story. :)

I bought my new kayak last Saturday and he (the boy) was very pleased as he now had a way to get me out of the house to a place where he could propose without it looking suspicious. See, I am always the one making plans, he's very laid back and so it's always "whatever YOU want to do" so if he'd suddenly made plans it would have been very suspicious. Anyways, we went to a beach nearby and I went out kayaking. I came back a few times to see if he wanted to try but he said no, it was ok. At one point he had gone back to the car (to get a towel I thought). When I finally came in I pulled the kayak up on the sand and went over to him. He bent over and picked up a rose and gave it to me. Me, being a joker in uncomfy situations, said "I'm not THAT good of a kayaker". Heh. Ahem. Then I shut up. He got down on his knee, and started reading me a poem he had written. Not a sappy one, but a really nice, cute, and funny one. And then he gave me this ring. It was all very sweet. I did not cry, though my eyes welled up when he was reading the poem. I am not really the cryer type, if you know me at all. Now, the next question you'll all ask....was my mom excited? Yes, of course she was....However, she knew about this all before I did. The boy went and spoke to my parents to ask permission. All together now...*awwwwwww*. He's such a cutie. And he's all mine!

* No worries. This diary shall not change into a wedding-related one. It'll stay just the same, with a few lovey dovey things along the way!
