We have mousetraps set up in our garage. A family of mice decided to take refuge from the cold in the garage and fell to the temptation of the raisin wedged on the little piece of wood with strong metal jaws.
I HATE having to take the mouse OUT of the mouse trap. They are there with their head stuck and their eyes bugging out. Normally they are killed instantly and they are firm when you have to take them out.
Well, last nite I was looking for the trap, it had "disappeared". I then heard a clinking sound and it ends up a mouse was caught in it with just one arm and he was still alive. I just stood there and stared for about 5 minutes not knowing what to do. I'd much rather it be dead and just toss it in the garbage. So, what do I do. Leave it there to die, and then throw it out? Or do I pick it up and release it? If it's arm was broken it probably wouldn't make it in the cold then should I really let it go in the snow?
Well, I decided to let it go...and it RAN away. I hope it was ok. We'll see if it's stupid enough to come back to the garage.
See, I'm not so cold hearted. Free the animals!
